Last week’s celebrity fashion getups proved that melanin comes with a good dose of fashion sensibility. From the Hollywood Reporter Beauty Dinner to Time 100 Next Gala, Black Queens came serving looks al dente. The stars presented themselves in an array of ostentatious ensembles best described as “ate and left no crumbs!” Although it wasn’t a literal cooking show, the mouthwatering looks felt like it, making it harder to choose which looks topped the charts. Just like Oliver Twist, we simply surrender to craving not one but as many looks as possible.
Afrobeats sweetheart Tems wore a bridal dress by Danielle Frankel and conditioned it to serve haute red carpet intentions. Ethereal in nature, the silk frock featured an elongated basque waistline that held onto layers of pleated fabrics cascading to the floor in surrender. The deep v-neckline merged with Tem’s feminine aura in total unison, and beautiful was a word that couldn’t cut it in description.
Ruched minis with cape necklines embody every frame alive. Logan Browning’s petite silhouette was an ideal fit for the purple mini Raisa Vanessa dress she sported to The Hollywood Reporter Beauty Dinner. The actress kept her face beat minimal, her hair sleek, and her nails purple, partnering with her ensemble to create perfection in all its simplicity.
Rapper Eve threw out a not-so-subtle reminder that she’s that girl — just in case anyone was still asking. Last week, she rocked an elaborate bow-detailed top with wide-hem pants and a chic blunt cut to our delight. The look revealed her paw-tattooed chest and an icy neckpiece that all blended in unison. Undoubtedly, she’s a queen and one of the best to ever do it.
